Demo Days

If you’ve been thinking about getting into kayaking, whether for paddling or fishing, there’s no better way to learn what fits you best than getting on the water.

Join us for our upcoming Demo Paddle Days at Rocktown Adventures on May 9 and June 13. If our schedule does not meet with yours, we also offer demo paddles by appointment. You can call the store or send an email to info@rocktownadventures.com to set up a demo paddle.

How our demos work

You let us know what type of paddling you are interested in. By this we mean water types you are interested in paddling (rivers, small lakes, large open water) and duration paddling, such as short jaunts, day long trips, or multi day kayak camping excursions. We bring a couple models for you to test paddle on the Rock River using the boat launch next to the Prairie Street Brewhouse

Instead of wondering how a boat might feel, you’ll have the chance to test paddle and experience the differences for yourself. We can tell you what a kayak feels like, but at the end of the day you are the one paddling, so learn what fits you best. We have had customers come out for a Demo Paddle with their mind made up to purchase a certain model only to have their minds changed after being able to paddle another model.

Why should you come to us for your kayaks?

In addition to being able to test paddle, you will walk away with some knowledge to help you be safe and enjoy your time on the water.  Our main goal is to help you enjoy the outdoors and embrace an active outdoor lifestyle.

If you’ve been thinking about kayaking, come out, get your feet wet, learn a few tips and tricks while also experiencing what type of kayak best fits YOUR paddling needs. You will walk away with some great knowledge and have a great time doing it! We look forward to seeing you on the water and enjoying the great outdoors!

Several people in kayaks paddle on a wide river with buildings, trees, and houses lining the opposite shore under a partly cloudy sky.
Two people are kayaking on a lake near a shoreline with trees and houses. Part of a dock is visible in the lower right corner. The weather appears to be clear and sunny.
A person in a red life jacket paddles a yellow kayak on a river, holding their paddle raised above their head. Buildings, trees, and parked vehicles are visible along the opposite shore.
