September 5–7, 2024
The Kayak Adventure Series (KAS) is a fishing tournament all about the love of fishing and getting together. Yes, there are prizes to be won and bragging rights to earn. But at the end of the day, it is all about the love of the outdoors. Come join world class kayak fishing angler Drew Gregory and his team for 3 days of fun during the KAS Wisconsin Riverfest in Sauk Prairie, WI.
The festivities start on Thursday evening September 5, 2024 with Opening Ceremonies featuring music, food, games, and merchandise tents. The actual fishing begins on Friday afternoon, allowing anglers to enjoy the Thursday festivities. Before the Friday fishing is an optional Breakfast Seminar Series features presentations by celebrity anglers and biologists.
The tournament format is a 5-fish limit across two days, allowing anglers to take risks on Friday, knowing they can still recover on Saturday. Successful anglers on Friday are filmed by the KAS crew for a TV episode, and all participants can submit footage for potential inclusion in the show.
Saturday's activities include an early start for anglers and a Friends & Family excursion for non-competitors, with activities like hiking, river tubing, and sightseeing. The day ends with the Closing Ceremony Festival with food trucks, games, kayak demos, and a test drive for the new '24 Toyota Tacoma. The Awards Show, held in a historic theater, features prize presentations and on-stage celebrations for the winners. Rocktown Adventures will be on site Saturday, September 7 with kayaks to demo from Crescent Kayaks, Old Town Kayaks, NuCanoe, and Native Watercraft.
The series includes various unique rules and categories, such as the 2-man team division, the Crescent Kayaks Kids Division, and the Women's Fishing Federation Award. Anglers can use motors, portage over natural obstacles, and access any legal public waters. Methods like trolling and using two rods at once are allowed, and the "Micro Bag" division offers a fun challenge of catching the smallest 5-fish limit.
Additional features include the 100-inch Century Belt for exceptional catches, the "Tackle for Trash" initiative awarding gift cards for cleaning up trash, and the "Day 2 Darkhorse" award for significant improvements from Day 1 to Day 2. The GoPro Epic Edit award recognizes the best video edit from a previous KAS tournament stop.
